Hi all,
Never ventured in here as Porsche has never interested me other than the great V8 D Cayenne that makes a great daily.
However, I've done a lot a track days and race a bit so been exposed to plenty of them over the years and I think I need to give it a try. The noise of the gt3 rs 4.0 at Spa back in the day when Goldtrack days saw 5/6 of them on any day I went to still sticks in my head and the gt3 cup cars are great. However the 4.0 is a big ask and into the big leagues money wise.
I've been speaking to a dealer who has a nice 997.2 rs 3.8 with ceramic brakes, manual box etc typical spec. What is the general feeling with these cars in terms of a place to put money? How rare are they and what is the general trading price of these at the moment? Obviously they are double what they were 2 years ago but with newer manual cars on the way is it risky to get into one at these high prices?
Now more importantly how are they to drive? I've read reviews but never driven any 911 and don't know what to expect, will the manual be an awful shock to the system after using paddles for the past 2 years in my road cars? (Race car is still manual funnily enough and it doesn't bother me)
Cheers
