Which Millers Engine Oil?
Discussion
Hi Folks,
I have a late 2009 997 Gen 2 with 55K miles & at next service intend to switch to Millers Engine Oil. According to the Millers web site I should use:
Use : Normal
Intervals : Change 30000 km / 24 months
Products
Premium : XF Longlife 5w40 (7640)
Energy Efficient Nanodrive : EE Longlife 5w40 (7806)
Trident : Trident 5w40 (7625)
So probably the Nanodrive 5w40 for reduced engine wear/friction is the one to use. However, I have heard people on here using millers CFS (which is for race/track use). i don't intend to race or track my 997 - so confused.com. Which one do you folks use?

Arahh yes. Sorry to ask a similar question. Thanks for that, much appreciated. CFS it is. I guess its then down to whether I go 5w40 or 10w50.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I recently rang Hartech to enquire about the right oil to use for my very low mileage 997 c4s gen 1.I respect these guy's
whom seem to know the inside out of these engines and they have had much success in rectifying problems that Porsche have ignored .CFS 10w 50 NT was mentioned and that is what is now lubricating my car along with the much mentioned lower temp thermostat.I had only done 2k on the mobile 1 oil after a recent service but now treat that as a flush.

Indeed. Hartech have done & continue to do extensive research in this area. They don't like to get drawn into the oil debate as everyone has an opinion but have heard 5w40 or 10w50.whom seem to know the inside out of these engines and they have had much success in rectifying problems that Porsche have ignored .CFS 10w 50 NT was mentioned and that is what is now lubricating my car along with the much mentioned lower temp thermostat.I had only done 2k on the mobile 1 oil after a recent service but now treat that as a flush.

Have the same 10W50 in my 996 C4S as that's what Hartech recommend.whom seem to know the inside out of these engines and they have had much success in rectifying problems that Porsche have ignored .CFS 10w 50 NT was mentioned and that is what is now lubricating my car along with the much mentioned lower temp thermostat.
However OP has a different engine which isn't known to bore score so should probably just stick to stock. If it ain't broke...
