Hi All,

Just after some advise regards upgrading my Gen 1 multi function steering wheel to a gen 2 wheel.
My car is a manual with multi function wheel but the triangular wheel is too thin.

I would like to upgrade to a Gen 2 pdk style without the paddles.
I don't mind losing the multi function but didn't know if this exchange is compatible airbag connections etc.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

There is always the option of having my existing wheel recovered but not sure who could do this.

Hi mate I did this on my old gen1 turbo. I like you found the triangular multi function wheel too thin so I went for the gen2 wheel with the flat bottom. I got it from Suncoast Porsche in the U.S. Was quite expensive as I had to get a new airbag fitted by my local OPC and there was the control module too. Overall I think it was around £1,500 for the lot. I got about £350 back for my old airbag selling it on eBay but it had to be kept at the OPC because it's an explosive device.

If you want to see it my old car is up for sale at Yorkshire classic Porsche for £52k so you can see how it looks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up.

I was doing some research in the classifieds and saw that on, i think it has the silver finish on the wheel.
Looks great, i will search for one of those.

Did you have any warranty issues with your OPC?
