Hi All.

I used to trawl these pages years ago when I had a 3.2 and then a 993, but dog and family life meant I chose Audi S4 / RS6 Avants for years. However now that my boys are a little older I've become a 911 owner again and let my company car do all the family work!

I've bought a 2003 996 C4s manual in Polar Silver, only done 57k miles, with some nice extras:

X51 power kit
Litronic
Bose, 6CD, PCM Nav
Extended leather
Small al'y trim kit
Rain sensor and auto dim mirrors
Lockable centre compartment
Sports exhaust
Rear wiper
Rear fixed spoiler (I think it's a TechArt type III from the research I've done) added at some point which I quite like.

Travelled a long way to London to view and buy it, and when I got there I couldn't fault it inside or out. Very enjoyable drive home to Scotland in mostly brilliant weather on Saturday past. So far massively impressed with the sensation of me driving it as opposed to the RS6 just burbling along with less involvement. The previous maintenance this car has clearly had makes it feel super tight - it belies its nearly 13 years of age.

So far I've managed to break the SIM card tray on the PCM (doh!) and have managed to keep it indoors until my day off today.

Planning some routine maintenance and a turbo-S style front splitter / lip to balance that rear wing out a bit in appearances.

Looking forward to spring and summer!

Thanks all - and thanks CMoose - I had read that exact forum post some weeks ago - I do intend to join 911uk as t's seems a good forum that I don't think was around 9 years ago when I last had one. (although try as I might I cannot get the new member registration link to work on 911uk - I've tried to e-mail their support describing the problem (probably to do with Apple Safari) from the contact webpage but no response! if anyone knows them please ask them to check their mail)
