CAE Shifter for 997 GT3
Discussion
I have been running the CAE with standard cables for a while now, car is a DD with no track work.
I think it depends on what level of involvement you enjoy from your Pork, it seems to me that many newer Porsche owners expect everything easy, quiet, soft and safe and would be horrified at the mechanicalness of the CAE, it is truely a wonderful thing if you like changing gear, it click clacks around the gate in a mega mechanical way and takes positive movements which would wear out a PDK girly in 5 minutes of traffic. You have a GT3 so you likely already appreciate what I am describing.
As far as wearing stuff out, synchos etc, I heard this too and perhaps it may do somewhere down the line but mine hasn't yet.

It's an H pattern and yes makes it higher and shorter. there are other AM shifters available like the Numeric one favoured by some in the US but the CAE is the most sophisticated and highest quality (and dearest of course !.)

This has been on my to-do list for a while, will probably go for it when I start tracking again. I've seen a few cars with the CAE shifter fitted, including GT3's, and also Mini Cooper track cars. One guy let me try out the CAE shifter in his 997.1 GT3 at the Nordschleife (stationary) couple of years ago and it seemed to do what it says on the tin - very short precise shifts. It felt very good I must say

Many thanks for that TB993TT - very interesting. I've always had short shifters on manual cars - just need to figure out which one for this car... It looks like a nice short throw on the video and the whole set up looks fantastic. Would like to see / feel one in the metal before ordering tho so will keep eyes peeled at the next track day or two for one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCu3wHv5mic

If you dun mind, who did the install for you?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCu3wHv5mic
I have just put one on my e46 m3 track car. Very mechanical with a strong centering Spring. BMW is a short rod to the 'box and no cables so it's extremely direct. Bloody wonderful but really comes into its own when pushing on
I'm convinced it would be as awesome on my gt3 and would sort out that 2 to 3 shift that hates to be rushed. I d like to understand why it would cause an extra wear on Porsche, maybe if you were to drive like an animal or something. ..
