997 turbo clutch
Discussion
After picking up my car from having another actuator replaced, I was told that the clutch is on its way out because the bite point is quite high. I have not detected any slippage and as far as I can remember, the bite point hasn't changed for a year or so. The car is on 105,000kms but I don't know how the first owner drove the first 38,000km.
Does anyone have a rough cost for a replacement? I think it's around 3000€ which seems a bit of a piss take. I cannot upgrade due to my warranty so will have to use the standard clutch. Is there anything else that should be changed at the same time? Flywheel etc?
Thanks

Hi, I had a clutch replacement at 42K on mine. I understand they are prone to wear depending on driving style.
I let it slip for a while which was an error as the friction from the slipping cost me The flywheel also due to burning from the clutch at high spots. We changed the oil crank seal at the same time as its exposed when the fly wheel is removed and daft not to considering the cost.
Your cost of 3k eur for a clutch replacement only looks expensive. Materials for the pressure plate and bearing if I recall is around £1000 for original parts.
