I had a mini victory with the replacement of all four drop links or anti roll bar links this week:

OPC quoted the following:

Front Part number:-99634306991
Front Price:- £244.91inc vat
Rear Part number:-99633306990
Rear Price:- £160.09

So that’s £810 in total for the full set for front and rear and very expensive for four metal sticks!

The OEM ones have TRW written on them so I assume they are made for Porsche by TRW who I read online are in legal proceedings with Porsche for selling parts with Porsche rubbed off. In short I couldn’t get them cheaper and had almost given up.

After some Googling I found that the rears have a size of 160mm between centres and the fronts 180mm between centres. The Mazda 323F use the same sizes and orientation for the rears so I ordered them from Euro Car Parts and £22 for the rears seemed too good to be true. I can confirm they are just as good and fit perfectly. I know all the chemicals in your body say this cant be right but apart from a hologram on the packet they are fine.

Rears 632900495

About £10 each.
How dare you fit substandard parts on your GT3? It is now totally worthless. I will save you and give you £1.50 for it and will buy you a coffee. Deal? tongue out

Well done for beating the system.

In a similar vein...

The Porsche 928 steering shaft has a rubber doughnut in the middle which sits close to the exhaust manifolds and deteriorates with age/heat, making the steering vague at best and dangerous at worst. Porsche would only sell you half the shaft with the doughnut attached for £475+VAT. The doughnut carries a VW T4 part number - £12inc VAT for a Febi Billstein from ECP...

My 996.1 CS has the adjustable Manthey links, but yet again I sourced SKF bearings, which are a fraction of the cost that Manthey charge to replace theirs, which incidentally are made by SKF. When the time comes I will be changing any suspension spherical bearing myself...

An option I considered but they dont last as long in the UK climate.
