I want to change the steering wheel in my Tiptronic 997.1 simply for a leather colour change. Is this a complicated job or fairly straight forward for a Porsche inde.? Cheers driving

Probably the best way forward is to have your existing wheel re-covered by a specialist firm. I can recommend Transcal 9look them up - I have used their Bristol operation with great results) after experiencing disappointment with some other, possibly cheaper, suppliers. You just remove your wheel - takes minutes when you know how - send it to the and refit when the wheel is returned.

Oh - you mean you just want to take the old wheel off the car and replace it with the new one that you've just bought? That's a really simple job - plenty of "how to's" on the internet if you want to do it yourself or maybe a 15 minute job for your OPC. It's trivial to do...

Mike at Sports & Classic did mine, quick and easy job. But as you're dealing with explosives in the airbag its best left to the pros.

Thanks. yes i am only swapping a Terracotta wheel for Black but because it was tiptronic i thought there may be complicated gear change stuff hidden behind the wheel. Technical things not really my strong point. scratchchin
