Yes.
The 991'S' did elevate the 911 to another level - bigger, more refined, nicer cabin architecture, superb chassis - and much more of a Grand Tourismo.
Is it better? In objective terms, yes, in many areas. In subjective terms, it's personal. It is very much designed around PDK and some might find a 997 more 'personable' - but then, if you follow that logic, a 993 is even more 'personable'.
In terms of price/value, again the argument will always be inconclusive. Is a £160k GT3RS twice as good as an £80k GT4? Is a £50k 997 twice as good as a £25k 987? And so it goes on.
