Dear All,

Been told at my MOT that my 991S needs 4 new tyres...

The availability of N1 Pirelli's is scarce, no two tyre places have the front and back in stock, but I'm worried about putting 4 x N0 tyres on the car. Will they continue to be available in the next couple of years? What is your experience?

Thanks
Jack

You might get a set from an OPC. I'd probably just switch brands if there were other options.

Why not use this opportunity to swap to MPSS which are generally regarded to be better.

MPSS aren't Porsche approved - so if he is on an OPC warranty he can't.

well he can, he just won't pass a 111 check if he renews the warranty after the car is 3 years old.

Another reason why n-rating has become a joke.

But if I *had* to dance to Porsche's tune, I'd buy a 2nd wheelset and fit the tyres I wanted on my car, and then fit the old n-rated wheelset for a day at warranty-renewal time.

Having just spent £3k putting the PSE and Sports Design steering wheel on I will have to stick to one set of wheels for now...

It seems that the Pirelli Zero's are the only ones that are in the 245 and 295 size. Otherwise I'd definitely go for Michelin tyres...

Thanks cmoose, I unfortunately have been made to replace all four tyres when only one was needed. Porsche gave me a contribution, but it still cost £800 when it should have been £200!

If you're going for a direct replacement Pirelli PZero, then you should be looking at the N2 variant. You'll find it available in most places. The N0 is probably what you have on your car now, but has since been superseded by N1 and now N2 versions.

OPC, Camskill, Black Circles..... Even ASDA stock them!

Also try Tyreleader.co.uk - usually very competitive, free delivery from the continent (usually Germany/Netherlands), have fitted by a trustworthy fitter near you.

Another I would recommend is Event Tyres - highly competent mobile fitting (as long as you dont have centrelocks!!), and competitive again on price.
