Anyone every heard of this company or used them. They are made in Germany and seem quite popular over here.
I need front discs and pads but obviously want to avoid any product that is inferior to OEM standard. My car being over 100kg lighter than stock seems to perform perfectly well on stock 350x34mm disks.

I've used them, but not on Porsche. They were no worse than other aftermarket discs I've used. If made in Germany is important to you, check they actually are. IIRC I assumed they were becaus of the name, but (at least the ones I used which would have been on Audi, bmw or Mercedes) were east European.

Thanks Grifter, they are defo made in Germany (not that that matters a great deal) but just wanted to ensure they were made of a comparable steel quality to OEM disc's.

Many 964 owners, including myself, have used Zimmerman discs. No difference in performance on road or track in my experienc. The only criticism of them was that the hubs weren't painted so you got unsightly surface rust if you didn't paint them yourself. However, I haven't seen Zimmerman discs available for the 964 from the usual after market suppliers recently. Instead, they tend to supply Sebro (which I've always found to be good) or Pagid (which weren't so good).

FVD Brombacher have 997 350mm front discs at EUR139 each. I would imagine given FVD's reputation, they would not be selling rubbish.

I am smarting a bit from using OE discs. Two front sets of Pagids replaced in under 2000 miles followed by refund when second pair caused vibration. Went back to Porsche discs and faultless since. Might just have been unlucky but I would second post above re Pagid based on my limited experience. Never tried Zimmerman. Ran PF on my GT3 - faultless but dirty pads++ (dust down the side of the car).

OP,

I will be needing new disc for my 996 GT3 in the near future so I am pricing up options. Can you share with me where are you buying your Zimmerman disc from? Thank you.

Hi Boxsey, the disc's arrived today and I can report that they seem from initial viewing to be absolutely fine, they also come painted in a corrosion resistant treatment (Corrosion Z I think they call it). All fitted and ready to be tested/bed-in tomorrow wink
