Looking for some help identifying what appears to be a switch or sensor on the rear axle of my 996 GT2.
Its on the NS Lower 'coffin type' arm, looks like a lever switch of some sort, it connects to the arm via a plastic
bracket that has snapped, anyone any idea what this is?
No picture but it is the only electrical item I can see in this area.

Apologies for the description.

Thanks.

Has the car got HID lights?

It'll be for the headlamp levelling system if so.

Headlight leveling system, there's one in the back and one in the front.
If you start the car and put the lights on, the headlamps will go up and down, if one of the sensors is broken, it will not and you have bad sight driving in the dark.

Looks very similar to the land rover discovery gizmo that sits in exactly the same place and controls the air system that keeps the car level...
