CT conditioner & 991 GT3RS

I've just purchased a CTEK battery conditioner for my RS. Having read the handbook I'm a bit confused , it implies you can connect via either of the 12 v sockets (glove box or between seats) , but then goes on to say the the sockets are disabled after 30 min to save things draining the battery ........ So asked OPC service and they told me that the 30 min disconnect only applies to the Macan , but I'm reading this in my RS handbook........
So simple question cos I really dont want to come back to flat battery has anyone used a battery conditioner via the 12v sockets and can verify it worked ? Thanks

Forgive me if this is a stupid question: if the car is placed in a private garage, with the ability to leave one of the doors unlocked (as it would have to be to connect to the 12V socket), why not simply lift the boot lid and connect it directly to the battery using the low-profile connectors? That's how I solved it on my 991 GT3.

I can't help with your question but just to say that in the 20 months that I've had the 991 GT3 I've never used the CTEK, there's never been a hint of the battery losing charge.

On my 997 GT3 RS 4.0 i connect the C-Tech to the socket in the compartment between the seats and I do the same on my 991 GT3 RS. You can check it quite easily by checking that the lamps on the unit are lit

On my 997 the sockets dont go to sleep in they are drawing a certain level of current it seems. I discovered this by accident and my CTEK works just fine for months at a time. Also my coolbox keeps working. If nothing is connected they go dead.

To answer my own question . On the 991 RS the 12 volt sockets in the car are isolated after 30 minutes. So have connected directly to the battery .

and more importantly your CTEK model also has an AGM setting for your GT3s battery?

Thread resurrection - need a bit of help if someone could chip in.

Is the OEM 997 gt3 rs battery an AGM battery or a standard one as I've had to flip the ctek on and I'm unsure if i should leave it in normal or AGM mode.....
