930 engine break in
Discussion
Hi Guys,
i just built my first Porsche engine, a 930. Complete build, with new cylinders, bearings etc.
I just started it up on an engine stand to look for oil leaks.
Generally its all fine. Engine responsive, no ill noises etc. BUT it has some oil smoke, which I assume normal at this stage.
I am a bitt puzzled though on the best running in method. The Porsche is big bore, with a rather smooth honed nicasil cylinder. What is the bset method to make an oil tight engine? Please reason Your opinion if possible.
Thanks in advance!
