Has anyone had any experience hardwiring a dashcam into a 997.2?
Ideally I'd like to make the cable as hidden as possible and wire it straight into the fusebox.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I have the Blackvue DR650GW fitted with the rear view add on. The camera sits discretely behind the rear view mirror and gives excellent HD recording with gps and speed recording with rear view as a pip

All wires are hidden and no radio interference whatsoever. Had it fitted by Road Radio near me in Surrey for about £500

Why would you want a dashcam? Insurance purposes or tracking/driving recording?

I went for a Road Angel HD. Fits quite snugly behind the mirror. I got it hardwired in by AVR mobile, fit and forget. I decided to get one fitted for the 'just incase' scenario.

I think there are pros and cons for it being visible to other road users. I had an incident, first ever since having it fitted 6 months ago, where someone thought I ought to be going quicker in lane one of the A1 in heavy traffic and pouring rain. He was racing up the inside lane and cutting back into lane two at every opportunity, he took exception to me doing 65 in a Porsche, in the inside lane. Much flashing of lights and sounding of horns ensued as I just maintained my speed and ignored him. When he did manage to cut back into lane two he inevitably, as I predicted, came straight back into my lane to brake test me. I think he was wanting to bring me to a complete stop on the carriage way, I pointed to the camera (you can see it it is pointed out) and he released his brakes and continued on his pursuit biggrin. Possibly complete coincidence, but it seemed to diffuse the situation quite quickly.

Whoops, that was an epic post wink
