Does anyone have figures for the 993 torsional stiffness values, for the Cab ideally, but would be interested in all values.

I think in technical terms a leggy 993 cab counts as floppy. A lower mileage version would be better - probably moderately floppy. HTH biggrin

hehe

But whatever age or mileage, it ain't (hopefully) going to be as floppy as this one

Unless it has a separate monocoque- like an Elise - it is difficult to retain much rigidity in a chassis when the roof is removed without adding a lot more weight. On saying that, the Cayman/boater platform manages pretty well. I would be surprised if the 993 cab had particularly impressive torsional rigidity but for road use it will be perfectly adequate.onlt a real issue when spring and damper rates are increased significantly

I'm not at home at the moment so only have bits and pieces of info.
The 993 coupe had a torsional stiffness of ~13900 Nm/deg AFAIK

The 997 models in coupe, targa and cab flavour were ~33000 Nm/degree, ~15000 Nm/degree and ~10000 Nm/degree respectively apparently.

Doesn't help directly I know but you can probably put a thumb into the wind.

hehe That was the list I saw that made me ask the question - was a curiosity thing, just interested how 993s, esp of the Cab flavour like mine, stand up to modern stuff. I've got a few creaks and rattles from the roof in mine (more noticeable when it's down as it happens, think I need to cable tie that mofo down on some of the lanes where I live hehe), but have never detected any negative driving aspects to it even when I had PSS10s on. That said, my BGTS feels feels like it's hewn from granite as it goes over the road, but I couldn't truth be told tell you whether that was chassis stiffness or PASM doing it's job well.
