I've been sent a vehicle report (for a 996), but not entirely sure what these metrics mean. Would someone be able to assist please?

1. Ignitions in rev range 1 (30260 @ 957 hours)
2. Ignitions in rev range 2 = 801 hours
3. Total operating hours = TBC, can be checked
4. Total distances
5. Programming numbers, (options) = 1

correct me if I am wrong - but for a 996 I believe RR2 means over the rev limit...and 801 hours seems like a lot of time to have spent at that range?!?!

The hours means the time (in operating hours) of the last event. There haven't been any Rev 2s for 156 op. hours because of the value in 1. I believe a Rev 2 within 50 op. hours is worrying but check out 911 Virgin page on over revs for more detail.
But they haven't given you all the data. The total operating hours is missing and will allow you to correlate the odometer with average speed and see how many hours ago the Rev 1s occurred.

Read this: http://www.911virgin.com/porsche/rev-range-informa...

The 801 hours is the time at which the last rev range event took place, not the duration of the events. smile

I found this little tool really useful. A chap on here created it.

AFAIK the DMS system on the 996 can only check ranges 1 and 2 and range 3 does not exist.

OP, you are correct that range 2 is above the rev limit. Possibly a missed shift.
