Never thought I'd be posting this but I've confused myseld.

Car 2016 991 GT3RS now a year old , 5500 miles and I want my Indy to do a mid term oil change.

I will do max one trackday this year, otherwise will be long sporty drives, home and Europe.

I must use a Porsche A 40 approved oil, either 0-40 or 5-40W.

WHy would I use 5W instead of 0W ?

My choices seem to be, in random order

Millers XF LL 0-40

Mobil 1 New Life 0-40

Castrol Edge Titanium Sport 0-40

I 'm keeping to these three or maybe Valvoline , any ideas welcome, and sorry for bothering you, but my mind is blank !

If you are concerned about oil quality, change it more regularly.

Thats way more important.

That's what I'm doing here , what I really want is an oil with more of them restricted/banned substances that protect better. Mobil 1 was somewhere slated for reducing them a few years ago, not sure about the other two.

There is no real reason in the UK to use 0w over 5w, Our climate is not cold enough.

I'm guess here but i doubt you drive your 911 everyday. The first number is how think it is when its cold.

In my experience, thinner oil also burn quicker so keep you eye on levels but i'm sure you do this anyway smile
