Nice, just watched that myself that's a big gain from the old one and again faster than the 991 RS.

13 second around the NS obviously mean f all to the average driver. What I found more interesting is the fact AP mentioned, that it was only a few years ago that you needed a racecar with big hp and slicks to achieve these time. Quite incredible really how fast these cars are!

Was just coming here to post that video... 7'13... incredible.

Will the GT2RS be able to dip under 7 minutes?

Not sure. More power, wider body, bigger aero and huge rubber might not be quite enough... I think it'd need the engine going forward a few inch's to dip under 7.

Great time but I'd also love to have seen the 991.1 gt3 taken round with the new N1 tyre (same sizes after all).

And while we are at it would love to see what a Turbo S does on the new tyres

I was thinking the same thing. Some record attempts seems at the very edge making it academic for owners but this one looked well within limits. I would imagine experienced owners can achieve times not far off it.

Could the new RS be a 4.2? I know Sharkwerks take the motor out to that. Then it would seem plausible that the GT2 would be the same; the addition of twin turbos could very to be able to produce upto 700 BHP. Whatever Porsche just seem so very able to just keep moving the performance envelope further and further on.

997 GT2's look stunningly quick down Dottinger Hohe. Similarly, for the big shove up from Bergwerk to Klostertal, they're going to have significant advantage too. I'd not bet against the 991.2 GT2 beating this time.

the .2 gt3 comes with the N1 cup2 tyre in the same sizes (245/35/20F 305/30/20R). the 991.1 gt3 was an earlier iteration tyre ie N0.

OK, thanks. So I assume if i need replacement tyres for my 991.1 GT3 I can use the N1 version of the Cup 2.

Any ideas what the differences are from N0 to N1?
