991 GTS 2WD or 4WD

Guys,
Looking to add an 2017 GTS, mostly be used for the odd trackday and some sunday road blasts so which would be better? ive never owed a 4WD Porsche so thought id ask the experts.
The 4wd comes with the PASM, but 2 wd doesnt, would the 2wd and adding the PASM benefit? or be a pain in the ass rock solid ride, which i have heard on a few you tube .

A lot of the mags / journo's rave on about the 2wd always being a better drivers car than the 4wd but in the real world (UK weather + roads) I would be seriously tempted by the 4wd. The 991 in 4wd drives so much better than the 997 4wd did from my experience of borrowing a 991.1 C4s for 2 days from my dealer. I've driven the 2wd 991.1 GTS and it was very good, but now power and pace has moved on even further in the .2 I often wonder if it's reached the cut-off point where 4 wheels would/could be more usable than 2 on most days? I suppose depends on what you are using it for.. but I think the argument for 4wd is stronger than it used to be.
All personal preference but in the GTS my fave is the Targa. Otherwise I'd have a serious look at a 991 turbo / turbo S too.

I thought the coupe RWD came with -20 PASM, but you can choose -10 PASM? I'm not an owner, but drove a RWD -10 car and found it to be surprisingly very compliant. Better comfort than a AMG GTS.
I also drove the demo in awful weather. Only really got wheel spin when really going for it in 2nd gear. Can't see the need for 4WD unless your up north and get snow, and it's your only car.

Fast forward to a pec day where I could back to back a c2s and c4s...the 2 has so much traction I'm not sure you gain anything from having the 4wd.
What did surprise me is I did notice the weight difference ,and the 2 was definitely a little bit quicker .
I don't think there is a wrong or right ,if you were using one as a daily 365 regardless of weather then 4wd ,but any other scenario then the 2 is probably the better bet.
I've owned a 2GTS and it handled brilliantly. It had a tendency to understeer slightly on turn in (which was easily dialled out by trail braking or entering slower) but I reckon this would be non existent on the 4GTS.
Isn't the 4wd system an 'active' one anyway? I.e. at motorway speeds in a straight line 99% of the power is being sent to the rears, at low speeds on snow it sends 50% to the front etc etc?

If you already have a GT3, and you want to 991 GTS all year round on public roads then 4WD. I have no fear of the weather - providing I have winters for snow 
My only query would be track use - 4WD is a totally different experience including handling, particularly with torque vectoring. So if you are expecting to improve in a 4WD and then hop into a GT3 you are going to spin - well I did! If you want something that is different and is real hoot regardless of how wet the track is 4WD is excellent!

It charges harder, looks cooler and goes about its business with more immediacy, but still doubles as the perfect everyday sports car. Living in the predominantly cold and damp climate we do, I’d even recommend going for the four-wheel-drive version too. Direct hate mail to the usual address.
