Feedback on Porsche engine rebuilders

Many Porsche specialists, and organisations like RND, do Porsche engine rebuilds. Would be interest in feedback from those with experiences of such.

(Hartech is a long way away and requires fairy regular trips up there to comply with the terms of their scheme).

You can have an engine rebuild at hartech and get it serviced elsewhere afterwards. If my 996 needs a rebuild ( when more like ), I shall take it to Hartech, then use my local Indy, Dove House, to maintain it thereafter. It's only their service plan that requires you to have it serviced there.

As moose says. It's just a two trip job. One to take the car in and one to service it after it's been run in.

A alternative might be to have the engine dropped by a local specialist and shipped and returned on a pallet.

I've rebuilt my 986's engine two years ago in North London by my indy. The engine was sent to a well-known specialist in essex for skimming and clearance. I think Portiacraft and several other dealers use them sometimes. I can repost the name later once I check the old receipt copies.

I was quite happy about the result, and checked previous customers cars before we started the work. The car needed to be checked twice during running period : for cooling and lubrication analysis. I also had one year full warranty.
