Thanks but I thought the idea of embedded sim was not to have to put in separate sim?
Latest PCM needs a third party SIM from a Network of your choice for the Wifi to work...my OPC supplied the car with a SIM which had three months of free data on it. I actually got a 3 data only SIM as it was the cheapest for what I wanted. It's great for us because of the kids...Ipad's etc and we have the Rear Seat entertainment in our Cayenne which uses the Wifi too.Latest PCM on Macan Turbo (and all 2018 MY cars) have embedded SIM and mine too had the circle of death when connecting to the wifi when we picked the car up last week from Leipzig. Guys at Factory told me there was a bug in the software.
Suddenly yesterday it connected to my phone via the wifi and seems ok now so maybe you need to leave it a few days and keep trying and if not talk to OPC
Even without it connected I could use Google and maps you just can't use the Porsche Connect App that allows you to search destinations on your phone and sync calendar and addresses etc.
Bummer for me is I picked up a 991GTS last month (2017MY) and this doesn't have embedded sim meaning I have to manually hotspot from my phone every time I want google etc. And it frequently drops the signal which makes it a bit of a PITA to use. Might have to get a SIM contract for this car as the 2018 version is great. First world problems - lol.

I thought connect plus was included with all 911s now, and that came with 2 years of data included?
What happens after the two year's of free data ? Do you have to buy data from Porsche or can you use a third party SIM ? If you have to buy the data from them it looks expensive down the line...Just found this link £39 a month for 7GB of data.

On the MY2018 991.2 GTS (not sure if other models are the same) it now has an embedded SIM with two years free data - this is only for the installed apps (12 I think) and Google Maps, if you wish to stream online music or internet radio you need a data pack for the PCM app. The car also has a SIM slot so after the free data period (or during if internet streaming is wanted) you can choose any provider for your data. There is also the option to connect to your phone via its wi-fi hotspot.
