...he and his other half chose today to pick up their new white 911 during Leicester OPC's 10th anniversary celebrations. The car was unveiled in the showroom and driven outside to park next to... a rather well restored 1965 911. Number 5 into the UK, in the first batch of five cars (the owner told us).

May have taken a little of the gloss of his day, as everyone was looking at the old timer!...

Whichever way you look at it there are two fantastic motor cars in that photograph.

I'm sure both owners drove off with a smile.

If I was picking up a Fiesta or Ferrari,I wouldn't want to be centre of attention.

Do the formalities and get out of there.

I would take a look at the old 911 first though.......smile

I would expect the older 911 is worth a lot more than the new one?

So the new owner gets to take a photo on collection day of his brand new 911 next to a 1965 car? I'd say he's pretty lucky, how many people get to do that? biggrin

This, what an iconic shot for the owner his car with the 1st 911 car Porsche sold in the UK.
I doubt you will see that again. One of 3 left in the Uk and one of one in slate grey with red leather. A very rare car home built by my mate and I help put the engine in it :-) only the 2nd time out in 10 years. Attention to detail is very very high, no workshop would get to this level of restore due to the hours put into the car. Very hard car to now value.
Funny when we were both blasting about in our little Elise's and he picked it up for £18k ! And I asked why did he buy it ! How little we all knew back then what would happen to values on rare cars. Really needs to go in to the Stugart Porsche museum as they don't have one.

But nice to arrive in the rarest car of the day :-) even if 80% of the people had no idea what it was.

Amazing photo opportunity. I assume the new owner took some shots.

Lovely cars, both of them.

I don't understand why anyone would option the rear wiper though.

if you intend on using the car daily in heavy rain its pretty useful, i had one on my 997 and drove that thing in the snow... its useful for clearing the rear window to check for rozzers...

however i agree they do look rubbish, won't be spec'ing one it i do a new order... though to be fair i don't use a car as a daily commuter anymore

Re the 991 pickup, i assume that was earlier i the day? they guy would of wanted to get it out of there sharpish as in the afternoon the place was like a zoo, with kids jumping over all the cars interiors!

Horses for courses. I don't get excited by either of them. Sure the older one is worth a fortune though.

Meh. Old stuff is just old stuff. I don't get the attraction to anything "vintage".
