Right, base 911, 911S, 911 GTS, 911 turbo, & all 911 cabs & targas** models can all be optioned with PTS at circa £4k; be-winged GT3 - cannot. Fair enough? GT3 Touring Pack - apart from minimal body changes (certainly much less than **) to the above mentioned models - no PTS!!
Strange, predictable, unfair, understandable, unreasonable, random, vindictive... or just Porsche's bloody mindedness?

I understood that it was due to production issues. So many buyers were requesting or contemplating it, that it would have disrupted the already tight production schedules for the GT3s.

There is a rumour that PTS may be made available for the GT3 and Touring in January, but nothing concrete so far

Every other market is getting PTS including RHD markets like Australia...it's a Porsche GB policy for some reason. Same for the R...UK didn't get PTS.

In some markets their response has been to increase the price to something like £10k to limit demand. That would be a much better option... price it very high to limit demand so that the people that really, really want it can get hopefully still get it.

PTS is availble on the stock GT3 on the continent already. I had a build slot but wanted Touring. Now I am waiting for the PTS on that version to be confirmed. But beyond availability also pricing is intersting to say the least. Instead of 4k on stock 911s it is 10k on the GT3

It was a big argument when Porsche said that there would be no PTS on the 991.2 GT3 as it would be in high demand and a pain in the arse for them to paint cars in lots of random colours and i believe is a 6 month wait if you order PTS on another model but Porsche have started doing PTS from January along with the touring pack and a couple of people have opted for it already.
Gulf blue touring is one.

Deviated stitching seems to confuse the configurater aswell!

PTS adds about three months to on order on average though that's because they batch all the PTS orders...so you can actually get lucky if you order one if it's close to when they lock for that window.

Thanks for replies.
Hey-ho, the bizarre world of Porsche never ceases to amaze me! Colour stitching, as Cheib pointed out, is a no-go with the Touring Package - aargh- it joins 'delete alcantara et al' onto a list of items of bewinged GT3 'unobtainium' that, frankly, makes no sense; either in a fiscal or manufacturing, nor marketing sense!
From my view point, Porsche is shooting itself, however unintentionally, in the foot. When one is spending a sum north of £100k on a car (or frankly any amount on a vehicle) bars on choice, that make little or no sense, dilute the purchasing experience & leave a lasting legacy of distastefullness (is that even a word?) & frustration.
Thoughts! Agree/disagree? All input gratefully received & equally valid.

Here's hoping that those with a GT3 Touring allocation are so incensed that PTS is unavailable, that they cancel their order in protest - thus moving me up a few rungs in the queue. smile

Does seem odd - guess it's a question of the relative values of C16 Vs PTS.

Can one still order a RHD for collection in Europe - regardless of whether it's factory or dealer collection?
