Opinions on Ceramic coatings
Discussion
Had a Williams ceramic coat applied to mine in the early spring, IMHO absolute waste of money. It was applied and certified by a main Jaguar dealership on the south coast. I've had it valeted since by two independent detailer's over the summer and both stated (independently) they they can't find any evidence of it being done.
Shame as £500 quid is a lot of money to protect a cars paint from the elements.

Mine has been done, stays clean and if I have to wash it I just use foam shampoo with no need to touch the car. When it gets wet water runs right off it. Im fussy with the way it look and hate getting it dirty, so for me its great. If your not bothered you may find it's not worth it. Depends on how you like your car and how you use it.
Mine looks showroom new, so I want to keep it that way.

I’ve had our Macan done professionally by Reep Group using Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black and it is definitely worth it. It comes with a 7 year guarantee.
I have had previous cars done as well and it makes them much easier to keep clean.
Hi Martin were Reep any good and if so, which one did you use ? Cheers I have had previous cars done as well and it makes them much easier to keep clean.

An interesting (and entertaining) view from Auto Expert TV:

Definitely comes down to the place and the person that's doing it. I've now had three cars done with the Gyeon 5 year ceramic coating by Staffordshire Car Care. Craig there runs the business hands-on and so you know exactly what you're getting. Others on here talk about other detailers with a similar commitment.

In general, except for my wife's car because it only ever gets washed if/when I take pity on it, I do notice how much cleaner the paintwork stays between washes and also how much easier it is to wash and dry off. I hate cleaning cars, so this is a good thing.

As above. I like to look after my cars but hate cleaning them because it's boring and life is far too short. I have Kamikaze ISM on the Porsches and C.Quartz on the daily drivers. Works well. More time to play and less time being bored s
tless.
Come on, Steve, you need to spend 10 hrs polishing every tar spot off your car you can find. Its really therapeutic and exciting..

I had my car covered with G techniq crystal serum.......I won't ever have this or any other such substance applied to any future cars of mine again...I have heard it said by a Paint shop that if you have a dink and need paint it will almost certainly doubled the preparation time.....whether this is true or not I don't know but it certainly sounds plausible.....it's horrible stuff and gives the car a nasty looking silvery glazed look which I think detract from the paint colour all IMO of course
I've had Ceramic coatings done on a couple of cars...our Cayenne has it and it makes absolutely bugger all difference in terms of keeping the car clean. Now inter is here the country lanes get muddy and the back of the car is currently sodding filthy. Definitely makes it easier to clean....especially the wheels.
I actually applied the Gtechniq ceramic wheel coating to my new winter wheels for the Cayenne yesterday....the difference in how the wheels felt before and after was amazing.
