991 GT3 Race Pedigree
Discussion
There doesn't seem to have been much of the way of 991 GT3 entries in racing as far as I can see. Does anyone know of anything significant in terms of wins etc?
There was a Cayman GT4 entry in the last British GT Champs and various race wins across Europe for 996/997 cars, but not for the 991.
Does Porsche just tend to focus on bespoke racing creations such as the 919 for Le Mans, or is it just a case of private teams not choosing to partner with Porsche for GT3 racing?

Yes , not like 15-20 years ago when most GT entries ( Privateer ) were Porsche and no new GT3 R until 2019 ...... so again besides the Cup and supercup there are few Porsche GT3/ GTE cars made these days for Privateers . Alegra racing in US ( won Daytona 24 Hours last year ) seems to be the only Porsche entrant again an Rennuar Racing does well in 24 hr series .....
But when with Proton last year , Christiaan said the they would be getting the first customer mid engine GTE .... so lets see.
But a long way from when Weissach made 30 cars a year for GTN privateers

Main reason not so many was the fact they were not competative, even flying lizard bailed on porsche.
New rsr is technicaly a prototype with no homolgated road versions yet 😉
Proton already have there car and out testing, see proton won best privateer/semi factory with a nice new porsche and funding as a trophy/reward

There was the works 911 RSR in the LM GTE Pro class this year of the WEC. Although mid engined it still counts as a 991 I think.
But agreed theirs not the number of privateers anymore.
Don't the rules state that privateers can only get a new GTE car in the 2nd year? Could be wrong there I grant you but I vaguely recall something like that being mentioned wrt to the new Aston GTE car.But agreed theirs not the number of privateers anymore.
