Sharkwerks bypass pipe, would you?
Discussion
I’ve recently bought a Sharkwerks bypass pipe for my .2 GT3. I asked my local OPC if they would fit it for me, they said yes but they would have to flag the car as having a non OEM part. The OPC I bought the car from said they were no longer allowed to fit non OEM parts for cars in warranty.
My question to those more in the know than me is; would you fit it or not? I know there are many on here who already have. Also, if the original OEM exhaust was refitted, would the warranty flag be removed?

My OPC told me that they would not fit it as it is a non OEM part, but if it was fitted it wouldn't affect the warranty as the bypass is after all the cats, exhaust system etc.
If for any reason the car needed to be inspected by Porsche or there was an issue that the bypass could have potentially caused then the bypass would need to be removed and the original silencer refitted before any work could be done.

There seems to be such a difference in opinion from UK OPC's on this. We have shipped Sharkwerks GT3 bypass pipes directly to dealers who have fitted them to customers cars, others I know have had them fitted by the OPC after we have supplied them. This OPC B***S*** about 'flagging the car as having a non OEM part' is just some crazy veiled threat that it may cause an issue to create confusion. There was a time i'm sure when Porsche dealers embraced modified sportscars, sadly no more!My question to those more in the know than me is; would you fit it or not? I appreciate that at 3 years old the car would fail the 111 point pre extended warranty check if it has any non OEM parts (including wiper blades & battery...!) but the fitment of a Sharkwerks bypass pipe should not affect the manufacturers 3 year warranty on anything other than the exhaust itself.
My suggestion - get it fitted elsewhere at an independent specialist and enjoy it!
