I have pondered a new car ( or almost new) for months

Alpina B5
BMW M6 ( coupe or Gran Coupe )
Jag F Type R V8
etc

But I always return to Porsche as we all do !

So think it has to be a Targa 4S

Powerkit + +++

A car to enjoy and built to my spec before they all go hybrid in some form or other

I might have just the car for you Except it's a 991.1 Targa 4 GTS.....last of the 3.8 N/A engined 911's.....How much do you want to spend? manual or PDK what's your preference?

Have you got a dealer with an allocation, as if not you’re going to struggle to get a new one now.

It looks like most dealers are offering the "last slot" as mine was when I asked (ordered Jan delivery March) most OPC have had more slots allocated due to the imminent shutdown. My OPC stated that when delivery's restart in September only GTS coupes will be available until the new model is launched.

Although an updated model is due in 2019 not all versions will be available (GTS) until much later.

With the current emissions testing that's going on within Porsche my concern would be that the CO2 figures would be vastly higher in the real world (and the UK tax) and the engine may be slightly detuned to lower the CO2 figures.

Not to bothered about touch screen buttons in the next version as they are a pain in the a**e to use and keep clean.

Its like buying a TV as soon as you buy one there is a slightly newer version soon available, if you want one buy it now life's too short.
