997 oil cap stuck

Evening
Tried to top up oil level this evening but fell at the first hurdle - couldn't get the cap off.
It's awkward to get hold of anyway as the plastic engine cover is in the way and seems thoroughly stuck.
Any suggestions or doin just need to man up?

Try again with a gloved hand. Give a lot more torque for the same effort.

Sorted this. Bit of googling suggested a soft leather belt. Worked brilliantly. Suspect leather gloves would have also done the trick (but I could only find a novelty oven glove)

Always be careful - those filler necks can snap quite easily - they get brittle with age...
