I received a copy of the DME report below from a Porsche dealer on a car that I am thinking about purchasing. They say that the "1" overrev reading in bands 3-6 is simply a glitch and should not be of concern.

While this does seem innocuous but I just want to double check if anyone has seen something similar before or does it warrant further investigation before purchasing?

Not uncommon, and somewhat annoyingly, seems to frequently be generated when using the diagnostics to carry out the the DME/over rev report itself ....

Yep. Glitch. No issue with that readout.

1 ignition....?? Defo a glitch.... That equates to something ridiculous, like a millionth of a second..... Roughly..... wink

I have read that anything less than 10 is a glitch.

For perspective there are 360 ignitions per second, a DME of 100 equates to the car being over rev'd for 0.3 of a second.

Ranges 1,2 & 3 are not seen as an issue.
