Have been thinking about upgrading the S5 and had a targa test drive booked in but windcsreen was cracked so got a 991.2 GTS Cab RWD for the weekend.

The noise (sports exhaust) the steering, the engine...the car feels so poised! It really is the ultimate driving machine.

My only concern is the RWD. I am used to AWD vehicles and so it feels a little skittish. The Targa is a C4S and should have that in a few weeks so be good to compare!

I am totally smitten (have been since the Purchase of my Cayenne SD Plat edition)

It shouldn’t feel ‘skittish’

Probably just compared to what I am used to. For example on full pelt the back end does really try and grip down and the TC light has flicked up. The S5 is a struggle to do that.

Perhaps skittish isnt the correct adjective?!

What gear/speed are you using when it does this? All 911s usually have great drive traction, due to engine position over driven wheels.

I wonder if it had PDCC with RWS? You can feel both these working so can take a few drives to understand what's going on. I'm not sure I like PDCC. RWS - yes.

Pretty sure it has both so perhaps why I get the sensation of it feeling lively?!

Not had the same feeling today so probably now got used to it?!

Yeah that'll be why then. Compared to your Audi, the 991 with PDCC + RWS (or even just RWS!) coupled with the feedback through the steering wheel will make for a very sharp tool when pressing on - it'd be almost like comparing a butter knife to a razor blade hehe

Needless to say I am sold. Have a test drive of a Targa C4S in a few weeks so will be able to compare.

tempted to go Cab 4 GTS but will see first how the 4WD test goes.
