Since Porsche UK started their strong measures to prevent flippers, I notice there's a glut of very low mileage 'halo' cars for sale.

Obviously a lot of people who've had their "circumstances change", but prices seem strong still though many seem on the market for a long time. Is the market going to automatically adjust by making the free money brigade take a bit of a bath?

What's the current consensus of flipping?

It's still happening...but as a result of over supply - there are a lot of people left stood at the altar.
Asking prices eventually will come down.. or rather deals will be struck.
General mass correction of forecourt prices isn't going to happen for fear of pulling the plug on the market.

People that may be bought the car specifically to flip.. and don't really want it.. so they have it on S.O.R at a silly price and getting no bites or they are are getting offers much less that then anticipated, as prospects wise up. Price has to come down.. they are making much less profit that expected and with each passing day they don't sell...potentially more.

Its the same cycle as it has always been... some real owners will end up with the cars - but they are much more savvy this time around.
This is the state of GT cars and all Halo cars these days... some cars will sell, they always will.

Likewise. Took my GT3 out for a drive on Sunday morning and stopped to grab a coffee....looked back at the car as I walked away from it and thought to myself a) how sodding lucky I am b) what a bloody fantastic car it is and c) how can someone own a car like this and not want to just bloody drive it.

Nah, countless depreciation & flipping discussion is still the worst, very boring.
Looking forward to the old chestnut of 'you don't have to read' but every discussion on this forum is the same... oh well!

I was in an OPC recently and spied a. 1 GT3RS and couldn't believe that a) it looked like it had just come out of the factory and b) the price until I saw the mileage.... 270miles in two years. I'm sure the DP and the flipper will make a packet for their pension fund which seems to be all that matters these days in the world of Porsche. They also had a. 2 GT3 and that had a whopping 1k on the clock. The first owner must have enjoyed the car for the fortnight they had it.

What a waste.

+1 I have worked on getting my Touring (well, first it was an R) for three years and it's a keeper. Drove it last week again, enjoyed going all the way to 9000 Rpm and thought again what a monster this engine is. AP is right that it is one of the truly greats. Why on earth would I ever want to part with this car again?
