I have a 991.1 GT3 club sport with all the extras ceramics, lift, leather etc...£130k...I am thinking of trading it against a 991.2 GT3, 1000 miles on the click with a massive spec coming in at £140k the dealer wants £160k was up for £180k so £160k is the best I can negotiate, so in real money that’s £50k and my car, would you wait until they drop more or would you push the button now because if they drop surley mine will?......

You could keep that and with the £50k buy that nice 987.2 Manual Spyder at JZM for a nice two car garage.

Not sure I could swap like for like at £50k , unless you wanted a manual GT3 or the RS.

Sounds like you already have a great car, so what is it lacking for you to spend £50k on the new model.

Thanks for your reply....

I have been fortunate enough to drive the latest one through Europe clocking up 6000 miles and 500+ track miles and I have to say it’s a different animal, the engine is a masterpiece and as for the handling it’s so precise..that’s leads me into the engine we all know that there is a cloud over the 3.8 engine something I wish there wasn’t but there is no getting away from it..

I probably do 10 plus track days a year and 1/2 Euro trips so it’s all about the car and envolment, yes I am PDk fan because when you are really on it I like having two hands on the wheel 😊

You have to think that gap will close over the next two years...you could probably do the same trade for £35k in 24 months. Although I don't think £160k is an amazing price to be honest...their are lots for sale and you have to ignore the £180k. The first few sold at that price but the market now is £150k to £160k. So I'd say £160k is a fair price and nothing more.

I have no idea but I imagibne trade values right now re around whatever the car listed at.

I take on board your comments and I have thought about the drop but there are a few factors 1. If the 991.2 drop back to list say £140k won’t that have an effect on my bid of £111k on the 991.1?
2. Also yes there a lot out there for sale and I agree with you £180k plus is/was madness but I have to think to myself a lot of the cars for sale are cars which are the trades for the 991.2 RS and once these are gone the market will correct itself, I’m not looking to sell it but drive it and drive it hard! I do think that at £111k list price GT3s are massively underpriced grantee that is the base price the one I’m looking at is £140k....shame I don’t like yellow as there is one out there for basically list!!

I'm guessing they will both fall the same in percentage terms in the near term. So the question is how much of a premium do you want to pay for arguably the best engine Porsche have produced in years?

The yellow one is overs as it must have been sub £130k.

A £140k car list is hard to get one head around also and not needed imo.

So there must be other cars in between which can be had cheaper.
Atm you have a very strong bid on the 991.1 car as they have big money in the other one, so yes if prices drop you still might be at £50k to change for a £140k list price car.
The closer you get to 10 years the harder it will be to sell the current one I guess and another one caught fire last week I see, so they do have a bad rep like you say.

It’s a tough call for sure, but I don’t see the doom and gloom most do and imo cars will not be at list. I know of trade bids still at £20k overs and then up for sale another £15k on that.

So tricky market as prices are all over the place.

I don’t quite agree as the car in question is a £140k car, so only £20k overs.

At the start cars were £50k overs, and most now are £30 to 35k overs, so to only pay £20k is quite a good buy imo, I paid that in a round about way to get mine new.

This is £139k with a £3k topaz ppf I have been sent the original order form so at £159k that’s £17k over...

Yes there are ones out there for £156k but imo not the best colours and light on spec.

So with the bid on mine the deal seems ok?

Fair comment, but I think £20k is the top end of the market right now. I wonder if the trade is paying list right now? I suspect not.

I guess you included the £2k showroom tax also, you will have to pay car tax on the £159k price so not like for like prices, so a £137k car ?

I am sure there are better value cars, mine is crazy loaded and was £132k plus show room tax.

Still finding it hard where £137k went on that car to be honest, but it must be right if you have seen the order. It’s also a 17 year car not 18 and close to 3k miles, and does ppf have a value ? I paid £600 to have the front pu done on my last car. Not bothered on this one as yet.
So with out man maths it’s really £22k overs for it and £1.2 k more to get some cup 2 on it.

Also I am not a fan of the painted white trim, or the Dunlop’s. But that’s just personal.

I have carbon trim and RS mirrors and bossed arms rest etc for £132k with a few custom options as well.

At the end of the day there are only 22 OPC PDK cars, all this talk of 138 cars gets a bit out of hand by the doom and gloom crew, so not much choice really if you are fussy about spec.

If you have to come on here asking the question I think you have already answered it for yourself?

If a car priced around 146k which is being sold by a OPC is only 17k more then list there isn’t much left in the pot for the original flipper. If any if its on finance. It’s only got one way to fell in price.

Your 991.1 sounds the correct spec being CS, in a year our two it will be less than 100k, but I can’t see them losing 50k!

If you have loads of cash and 50k is a drop in the ocean go for it, if it isn’t think hard.

Thanks for your comments guys really appreciate it...

You are probably right I have made my decision but £50k is a lot of money and it’s not to late to back out if the comments/advice was leaning that way...but being a engineering is a thing of sheer excellence that’s not happened and it’s come down to a money thing!

The big question is how much will the .2s tumble and how much of my 50k will I lose....will they drop to the £100k mark....?

not possible imo that would mean 991.1 GT3's at £70k

Also I priced up that car for you

£133,742.00 I make it.

so not a £140k car as I thought and makes it >£25k overs, which is fine btw.
