997.1 GT3 Warranty Due
Discussion
Hi my Porsche warranty is due in November this year. My car has had Porsche warranty all its life. I feel as they are warranting these now until 15 year it would be silly not to renew. I may as well get the next few yeas while its available.
I'm weighing up the cost via pot luck nothing major goes wrong. I had to spend £1,000 refurbishing the front shocks with Centre of Gravity as Porsche said this is wear and tear.
I guess the warranty is nice to have for the major items, engine , gearbox, differential and even electrical parts.
I have been quoted a price of £2331.00 including warranty check , 2 years warranty and 2 year Porsche assistance.
Its not that much money for piece of mind I guess.
What are peoples views.

Hi Darren
I'd go for it whilst you can; it's just peace of mind against anything major... That said, you should be able to get that price sharpened a bit. In my experience, the 111-point check can be provided foc if either (a) you are a regular customer at the OPC or (b) you have a service carried out at the same time, and I always waive the Porsche Assistance element which shaves-off quite a bit (and getting RAC or AA cover at a much lower price makes great sense).
But, you know, it really is about time you got a more modern one...!!!

Yes my car is getting a bit old now. Funny thing I still love it though. I would love a 991.2 GT3 manual but not prepared to pay the prices at the moment. My other thought was to go classic air cooled, but would I miss the ease of drive and performance.
