It might mean more GT2RS for parts of the world with no particulate filters or more for the EU. You have to bel8eve they’re building more though!

I thought those options were a available on the first run GT2RS anyway. The way the journalist has written it and the article title in the news section dated today makes it look like it’s for spec that wasn’t previously available. He’s also quoting in £’s but I don’t know what the original prices were to see any difference!

it's an odds story for sure, a bit like when the Touring came out when all GT3 were sold.

I also thought that was available anyway - I assumed these options are available on all RS cars. At least the steel half cage was definitely an option imo, somebody on here ordered one from memory as it can be used in competitions

That you can now get a Clubsport pack for the GT2 RS, for free with a steel cage which is FIA Approved like any other CS pack.

You couldn’t before. It was standard car(non-CS) or weissach pack.… with a titanium cage which was not type/FIA approved. You can now also swap out the WP cage for the approved steel cage, and you’ll get £4K off the price of WP.

Even with the Weissach pack you could have specced the Steel cage..This article is a load of bullcensoredit..I believe Footsoldier had his WP GT2 RS with a Steel cage rather than the Ti version,

Ok… you could not just spec CS before. That is the main change. Oh and it’s free.

Other outlets including the Porsche site are citing there is a change. So the PH article isn’t well written… just go to one of the other car sites to get the detail.

You mean you could not spec CS on the standard non WP GT2 RS before.? IIRC you could, as well as put the steel cage on the WP GT2 RS. Besides its a moot point as the GT2 RS is no longer available anyway.!

I'm just regurgitating whatever these various outlets are saying including Porsche themselves. As you said probably moot... but that was the point of the thread... does this new announcement on GT2 RS mean that they are more available? is the production run actually ended? or if I had c£200K to drop could i go make an order and select CS from this point onwards.

Well yes the point on the thread in the main was with the new spec release does this mean that the order banks are open!

I was also trying to see if the spec had changed on the main Porsche web configuration tool with would have backed up the article comments.

However it all looks like a load of nothing and there appears to be no news on a further run of cars or anything else GT!

No news or changes on the UK Porsche configurator website so your analysis seems to be the correct one..I can't see any official news from Porsche so a case of 'chinese whispers' methinks..

Evo provides a clearer explanation.

Weissach package used to be available with Ti Cage or with No cage. You could buy an FIA steel cage separately from Motorsport if you wanted.

You now can order CS + WP and you save £4K and add 30KG vs WP with Ti Cage. Or just spec CS for free.
As well as FIA Approved Cage you get Fire extinguisher, Drivers harness in black and Battery Kill prep.

Simples if you read it.
