Porsche 996 TT Help
Discussion
Hi All
My Car won't start after hard brake
I have replaced the Camshaft sensor that was showing in the diagnose ( Bank 1 )
the voltage to camshaft sensor is 12V but from ECU is 5V
connect direct wires from ECU to sensors 5v and still won't start
replaced one of the Fuel pumps
no fault in diagnose system at all
fuel pressure is 4 Bar working fine
the car cranks forever but wont start
all sensors been checked no problem
ECU remapped again
the car is just cranking
when i unplus the fuel pump relay it starts for 3 to 5 seconds but bot idle working
when i place back the relay it wont start
the car is modified to 1300 HP and was working perfect for months but after one hard brake it wont start again
any idea's please
crankshaft sensor is working, both camshaft sensor working fine, all the sensors are working fine plus new battery, 2 new fuel pumps
your help will be much appreciated

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but sounds like a timing chain failure to me, what with that cam sensor fault, easy enough to check, remove cam sensor again and turn engine by hand, see if cam rotates
Don’t see how the timing chain is snapped if it will run for 5 seconds with the fuel relay removed. First car I have heard of that will start with a snapped timing chain. Op have you checked to see if your physically getting a spark at all. But again if it’s running for 5 seconds then there must be one.

It did start after that but not anymore so it's not timing chain MB140 said:

BHP sounds incredible
F**k!
My old 996 turbo had 500bhp and was an utter beast!
Other than the various useful suggestions above, do you know when the plugs and coil packs were last changed?
OP has this + a Golf R power ...... epic truely insane but fair play that mezger being given the power it truely deserves.
