Two random questions re my fantastic new to me 997.1 GT3...

I was seeing the different bolt holes on the seat mounting brackets and thought I could put the front in the upper position to get more rake. Silly me, the two pairs of holes only raise or lower the whole seat, not change the rake. Is there a way of getting more rake? Custom seat brackets perhaps? BTW to take the seat out, do you take the bolts out of the brackets into the seats, or take the brackets off the runners with the allen bolts?

And then the PCM (2.1). Is there a preferred way to upgrade it? I've successfully used the Parrot kit before to get USB and Bluetooth audio in other similar generation cars. Not sure what to do here. It sounds pretty hopeless. Does it need new speakers as well to sound good?

Cheers
Bert

oh sorry, I thought I had...I bought the black 155k miler - the clubsport. It's on KW shocks with a sharkwerks bypass exhaust (otherwise standard) with a clean bill of health from Matt at Fearnsport. It's utterly entrancing and if you didn't see the 156k mile (hehe) odo reading, you'd never know. The motor is top notch. We think there is a little valve-guide wear, but the leakdowns are all less that 1%. Matt says he struggles to get a new engine that low.

My target is 200k miles. I reckon it'll take me 2 years to get there. biggrin

Well done Bert. I saw the car was no longer on Autotrader so assumed someone had snapped it up. I'd corresponded with a previous owner and he raved about it!

May I ask how much a leakdown test costs?

spoke to matt this week about the get 1 gt3 ppi and leakdown... he quoted roughly 1.25 hours at their sub 90 plus vat rate for the leakdown test.
