Good morning long time reader first time post.
Looking for some advice or previous experiences with the colours.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a 991.1gt3 and I’m torn between guards red or sapphire black
Spec are the same both have ceramics, both club sports with buckets and chrono etc black one has 5,000 more miles but is slightly cheaper.

I love the guards red looks a little more special and is usually always Porsche launch colour, but love the stealth look of the black against ceramics and resale of a black car is always better than a red one
Thanks

Guards Red, black is a PITA to keep clean.

Plus GT3's always look better in brighter colours!

Black is a pain to clean but worth the extra effort looks awesome when clean.

GR looks great but can attract unwanted attention and vandals for some reason also seen a lot of red with swirls it needs just the same care and attention cleaning.

But it's a GT3 it will look awesome in either colour you go for.

Only attention I've seen is positive. GR over black for a GT3 all day.

Guards is a lot less common on 991.1 as was used as launch colour on 991.2. That’s a good reason to go for Guards as well as it being a brighter and traditional Porsche colour. GT3’s carry off brighter colours in a way the standard Carrera doesn’t...but black does look bloody good,

‘Black isn’t a colour ,it’s a job’

Black is so tough to keep clean ,but looks amazing when it does.

Just buy whatever your heart tells you .

Have you considered waiting for the new 718 gt4, if it gets the new 4.0 litre engine it will be an interesting car!

Black is more understated , have always ordered black GT's , yes cleaning is an issue especially mid winter ... but have a good hand wash place down the road . Maybe Touring would be nice to have a loud colour ... but with a wing , nicer to be a little toned down . Just an opinion , Colour is the spec that matters as we all have different likes .

black looks amazing, but guards red in the flash looks incredible!.. In photos they look ok, but with your own eyes, looks out of this world.

I nearly purchased a GT3 when I wasn't even looking to buy a car, and I put that down to be that it was red

Black looks great for about an hour after a good clean and then it’s downhill until the next wash. Guards red, especially for the GT3, is a definite yes from me.

Had my GT3 covered with PPF, so was able to keep it clean without taking too much care....

Black for me. As a static object I prefer GR however it always stood out on road so I never felt comfortable parking the thing which does limit enjoyment somewhat...

Depends how you intend to use the car IMO.

Whilst the GT3 suits black GR is quite rare especially on the gen 1.

Black shows the filth in the winter and dust in the summer.

Always wary of dark colours on rapid cars too. Red is much safer and has greater road presence.

It’s a hard choice I a notice
I had a 997.2 in black with PPF and it was a pain
I had a 991.1 in red with matching pained front, rear spitters and sills
Now have a 991.2 in black (did not bother painting the splitters as they are black anyway.

On balance prefer the red and would have had the current one I redid I hadn’t wanted a change. Either way you can’t go wrong

either way you can't go wrong. Go with what you think is right. I do like black cars. Red is quite a loud colour
