Hi
Im looking at getting some bucket seats for my 997.1 GT3.

Any recommendations to what might be good.

Thanks

If one does not want to put in oem buckets, which would add value come resale and pass a warranty check.

I would go for Carbon Recaro pole positions with BBi Seat Base and Slider Kit.

Always ask which kit fits which seats as the ABE buckets are wider than the race ones so a lot of after market mounts don't fit the ABE.

He's a good bloke. I sold him some wheels a few years back and he was very straightforward to deal with. He might still be worth a call, as he's always scouting around for stuff and could keep a "wanted" list.

Already done Digga.. He says he may/ may not get offered any in the near future & advised getting another set from elsewhere if they come up for similar money.
Plan is to put them in my 997.1 c2s then put grey originals back in the car if/ when I sell them. I could then either resell the buckets or put them in the next car.
Hoping they will retain the majority of their value if kept nice.

Worth looking at Teile.com - I had very good service from them when I sourced a set of totally immaculate folding buckets for my 991.1 GT3. Shipping from Germany was very fast, the seats very well protected, and I was very pleased with the deal overall.

Got my eye on some carbon fibre folding gt seats. Original Porsche items but strong money. My thought is to put them into my 997 c2s while I have that then if/ when I trade up to a gt3 i can put them into that, if it's a comfort model.

They do look nice and being original porsche seats should always make them easy to sell. I do like the idea of folding seats as I like to go touring in mt gt3. Can get lads of luggage in the back.

It's worth considering for sure. There's a fair bit of space under the cage, behind the fixed buckets in my Clubsport, but you can get the square root of **** all in there, even with the seat slid forward. I found those folding buckets very comfortable too.

I think you're quite safe. There is an established market for good condition OE buckets and, as you've found, they are hard to come by and command a certain price. My thinking is that they will continue to be sought after and will hold their value very well. As safe as money in the bank... (well, probably not, but you're not going to lose your shirt and you will have a great deal of satisfaction from your 'investment' in the meantime).
