Hi all,

I've just had some film added to the front of my GT3 and not sure it's a good job but not sure if I'm being picky. I've marked area's very quickly in red in Photoshop that aren't covered and clearly that seems pretty poor, as well as the shoddy cut lines. But I'm just wondering, how do all yours compare??

Cheers.

They are normally pre cut templates, So it depends what film you used as to what template was available.

I have not had PPF to a GT3 but have to a number of other cars with complicated bumpers. That looks an unacceptable shambles to me.

Cheers, well apparently it was Hexis Bodyfence film, would that have different templates to other films then?

I havent used Hexis film or seen their pattern database but that does look like a poor template design or the installer hasn't fitted the pattern correctly ... Xpel do the best pre-cut patterns out of all the PPF manufacturers

Did you install this yourself? If so, thats not bad. If you paid for someone to do it, then that is pretty shoddy

I’d still go back and say that it’s not what you were expecting and probably not what you were sold - there are large parts of the bumper that are not covered and will get peppered with stone chips.

Give them the chance to rectify it - you never know, they may have had the trainee doing the install and may remedy for you.

If they don’t, then I would report them to trading standards and give them hell on social media, etc

Wow, ok, I thought you'd done it yourself. For that much, id expect a propper front end job (its only 300 quid cheaper than the more expensive places)
Definately take it back, and at the very least get them to cover the unprotected areas/ if not remove with properly precut pieces and not a patchwork

Well, I went back to the chap who did the work and he assures me that he's used the correct template from Hexis, so I thought the only option would be to contact Hexis to ask them if it's correct. They then frustratingly said that they can't speak to me about it, they need to be contacted by their actual customer due to the new date protection rules frown I explained how ridiculous this is because how can I rely on the company to follow this up correctly if it means they would have to redo the work!

I'm now at a loss unless I can find another Hexis Bodyfilm example on a 911, GT3 ideally. Do any of you have Hexis Bodyfilm on your cars at all?

Irrespective of what they say - it’s still not up to the job as it has left gaping holes which are not protected. You’ve bought from them in good faith - it’s not your fault that this is what you ended up with.

I’ve never heard of Hexis and Xpel and Suntek seem to be the main ones used, but this is not acceptable, so they need to rectify it
