992 C4S arrived
Discussion
Brief thoughts if any of you are tempted to jump on board...
Gentian blue, sports tex seat which are IMO going to be the seats to go for for no cost option as you get the crayon stitching, Carrera Classic wheels which suit the car so well. I’ll cut the the point- what.a.CAR..
As we know Porsche don’t make bad cars, early day power wise as running in for a little bit but basically comparing to the 991 generation the 992 C4S Is a major step on, suspension is totally compliant on bad road surfaces, which on my 991 GTS used to be a pain in the butt, steering is GT3 Direct. Gripes are- Steering wheel block far left & far right dials, far right being the fuel level and Sat nav short cut, gear surround in piano Black is too much and for me is an afterthought as is the brawn shaver gear shifter, also I can tell that when you want to slip into Manual mode, have a short blast, then you used to just knock the shifter back into Drive this can’t be done as far as I can see...?
However, I can get over the small issues as the progression overall is of major level, makes my 991 RS feel very dated inside, I’m looking forward to putting the miles on and I’ll pop back in to give impressions on the engine development/changes that P have made... my gut feeling straight away is 991 GTS with more torque.

I wish you hadn't posted those pics as Gentian Blue was a joint contender for my 992S..I went with Aventurine Green after much debating and it better be great in the metal as your Gentian Blue is making me regret my choice..Depending on what Aventurine looks like on my 992 Coupe i might change my June 992 Cabrio to Gentian..Its Porsche's best Blue in a long time IMO.
I have the same Carrera Classic rims which i agree suits the 992 although i really like all the new wheel options on the 992...another tough choice !..I went Black/Mojave leather although again it was a tough choice over the Crayon stitched Sport Tex which looks both incredible and original on the 992.
I also agree it makes the 991.2GT3 RS look dated inside.Based on first impressions of the 992 i suspect the 992GT3 and TT will be awesome cars..I'm hoping to get a Jet Black 992 Turbo early next year if everything goes according to plan.

Picked up my 2S yesterday and totally agree with everything MeisterH says. Car is very fast and compliant. Steering is super direct and I think the car would give my GT3 a serious run for its money. In fact running down some twistie lanes last night I think I probably went faster in the 2S. Car moved around more but felt so safe.
Dials are a pita. Particularly if you want the map on the right hand dial screen - you can see most of it! Gear shifter is taking some getting used to and it doesn’t automatically apply the handbrake when you press P. Come on Porsche my Golf R does that! Lots of dust catching crevices around the centre console that will be very difficult to keep clean.
Having said all that I LOVE the interior and think it feels very classy and GT like now. Sportex seats look the absolute business and almost chequered.
Taffy I think you’ll be pleased with Aventurine.

Picked mine up last week (29/03). My first 911 (C4S) & absolutely loving the car.
Only gripes are the hidden dials as mentioned, the interior door handles are finger crunchers but these are my only gripes. Beautifully balanced car with a real sense of occasion (for me at least, I’ve come from 5 Range Rovers)..
It’s clearly beautifully built and looks absolutely stunning.

All lovely looking cars!!
It's weird but the journo reviews are a mixed bag. They are all positive but some say it is a small step on from the 991 and some say major step.
The first reports from owners are unequivocally in line with the latter ie that its a significant improvement. I was at the launch but haven't driven one yet as out of the country. Can't wait to get back!

After a mess up with my order I ended up buying a pre-built car:

Congratulations to all three of you - they look fantastic.
What options have you gone for? RWS? Sports PASM?

Loving the colour and wheels - what’s it like in direct sunlight - still rich or washed out ? Really nice
Thank you Richard. I am so pleased with the spec and think it looks fantastic inside and out. Rev counter has an almost green tinge to it with the light shining through the white ring - quite retro and very cool.
The car is absolutely amazing to drive and exceeded my expectations tbh. I dropped the psi today as Apollo suggested and it’s made a difference and smoothed out the ride. I’ve set the pasm-10mm into sports mode and I prefer it more tied down and and again less bouncy and ‘moving around’ it’s still not crash over road imperfections. Handling is very strong and flat - not GT3 standards but better than the 991.2 GTS.
And it’s quick even with only 200miles on the clock. Going to be interesting when I dig the GT3 out the garage to see how they compare.
What I would change on the car - tbh I think I should have specced RWS. Didn’t think I’d need it, but I think it would be better and a bit sharper if I’d ticked that box. Nothing else missing imo and even happy with the standard exhaust as I don’t like the fake pops and farts of the .2GTS.
Back to your question - the colour is lovely changes a little in the light as you walk around the car but don’t think it looks too washed out imo. Sometimes looks more grey but it never looks lighter than the showroom picture.
Sorry for the long reply!

That looks great.Seems different to Aventurine green on 968/993. Maybe just the light?

I think the colour is different to your first image in all honesty more olive in colour. Still looks very retro in styling and colour. I think Porsche have done a good job of creating a modern stylish car that has touches that hark back to the older models. Even my mum liked it and she’s normally totally non-plussed when I rock up with new wheels.
Ha ha - that makes me sound like a teenager!
Porsche 992 today: avoiding all signs is becoming a habit...

4S and I'm happy with it. More torque than a 991 GTS and as agile as I want it to be. No anoying buzz at 2k... Only thing I could find was the popping door handles, lack of ability to keep the windows / roof open at speeds over 40... Gets my vote.
