Has anyone picked one up/tested yet on the standard exhaust?

Just wondering what it is like as I quite like the look of the four pipes on the standard but all the launch and press cars have the sports version?

Please let us have your thoughts/observations?

Thx

Do you have a view on high or low number plate position? Can’t decide here.
Agree re your view on the pipe position.

I test drove one with the sports exhaust, was very quiet imo, and that was comparing to my 991.2 GTS.

If you want any sort of soundtrack, 100% sports exhaust is a MUST!!!!!

Get used to the look, you will regret not specking it.

Has anyone actually driven a normal and sports car back to back? Everyone says SE is a must, but is it much louder or is it just the pops and farts that are louder on the SE version?

All exhausts are quieter now and Porsche are apparently already compliant with V2 of the WTLP emissions.

I know the exhausts are quieter but not sure how much difference there really is now between normal and SE - I heard not much but can’t find anyone who has back to back comparisons.

4 pipes look better imo.

Well I turned it on and off which is effectively the same thing?

There’s hardly any pops and bangs on the sports exhaust, unless they are going to get louder with miles, they were noticeably less than my current.

You sure Porsche already comply to WTLP2, as the salesperson I was with suggested further changes would need to be made?

Thanks everyone-so the responses pretty much summarise the main question.

1. Yes the 992 is quieter than previous generations

But is the PSE actually significantly noisier than the standard?

I agree with your comments from my experiences so far of driving both.

Just giving this a quick nudge to see if anyone has tried both and noticed a big difference between Sport and Standard exhaust?

Not having owned a 991, I can't offer any opinion in comparative terms.

Having done 1000 miles in a Sports Exhaust equipped 992 C2S, albeit not yet above 4000 rpm, IMHO the exhaust note is engaging and a good audio backdrop to the rapidly approaching horizon.

If you want to hear pops, bangs and whistles, then you may be disappointed.

I'm happy to admit that I find anything too externally loud slightly embarrassing these days. Internally, it's a good soundtrack, not deafening, guttural, and pitched at the right level for what is meant to be a daily driver.

I'll report back once I'm past 1865 miles..... driving

I agree 100% with HC's opinion on the 992 in terms of both driving and options to have..Interesting to hear that his very trustworthy mate who's driven both RAS and non-RAS 992 felt that the non RAS 992 handled every bit as good as the RAS 992 especially in terms of agility and having a responsive front end..I feel exactly the same on this rather contentious issue in complete contrast to the 991.2 where i felt RAS was a 'must have' as the non-RAS 991.2 felt like a boat in comparison..
He omitted to mention the -10mm Sport PASM which i feel is a 'must have' as it think it improves the 992s handling much more than you'd expect..
