Don’t forget to add the fact that cars by European law will not exceed the speed limit (without an annoying continuous warning noise if you do) from 2021 or thereabouts wink

Imagine being passed by a 2020 Honda Jazz which is not limited whilst you cruise in your GT3 hehe

Quoted from The Times...........

“All new cars will be fitted with devices that make sure they automatically keep to the speed limit in a move billed as the biggest overhaul of road safety in more than 50 years.

Within the next three years, models sold in Europe are expected to use technology that detects limits and slows down vehicles travelling too fast.

It will be one of 15 new safety features fitted as standard to cars, HGVs or buses. Other measures include technology that detects when drivers are losing concentration or falling asleep, a system that keeps cars in the centre of lanes and accident black boxes that record vehicle movements.

All cars will also be fitted with automatic emergency braking, which brings vehicles to a stop when pedestrians…”

Of course it remains to be seen if it happens around 2021or whenever but if it doesn’t I’m sure it will do at some stage in the future that’s for sure yes

Let’s see how they deal with this first...

The ecomentalists have a reality check coming. Zero carbon in the next 20 years is a slim possibility, in the meantime we will need gas and oil to keep the lights on and the cars running.

Got bored reading that but it doesn’t appear that electric vehicles are going to be any better overall. I look forward to the first 25 mile snowy traffic jam on the M25 with 25000 electric vehicles stuck in it! I wonder if the helicopters that air lift them out will be electric as well?

If you want to know how dull motoring will become take a trip to Switzerland...combine the amount of speed cameras they have installed in the last five to ten years with severe speeding penalties and you have a very regimented driving experience on major roads. Waze and similar systems are banned so there’s no cheating! I am guessing that will come here.

Life without Waze is worse than life without a GT banghead

It’s starting to sound like a life with E-Pipe and slippers and a Sunday run to Church in a 2VoltCV, how boring!

Even race circuits are constantly bringing down the noise limits.

Quick question, when will the U.K. be able to power all transport via renewable energy? Via clean energy power sources of course.

Just 16 shipping container ships polite as much as all the cars in the world. The talk of cars constantly as one of the main problems is incorrect. It's shipping and other industry.

Yup, they’ve even stopped traffic or roadworks information on Waze now. Until recently that info was there but now it’s just a Satnav in Switzerland. Weird place Switzerland in some ways very strict enforcement of laws but there’s also quite a lot of brown envelopes in the property market.

Pardon the pun but there’s noting GREEN about the monetary policy in Switzerland! I wonder how much CO2 is produced in the making of all those Brown Envelopes they use?

Hey, don’t dish my all time favourite motor (after Porsche’s, that is)!
2CV = balls out driving most of the time: revvy engine: rifle bolt 3speed gearbox: great roadholding: handling, err... interesting: what’s not to like? Never ever boring. Always fun, with loads of character.
Unfortunately, I never tracked/raced/rallied mine, but I picnicked in it - seats easily removed to seat three rug-rats & one’s significant one for al fresco munching.
As I’ve mentioned on here before I’ve had two. In fact I sold the family Porsche & ran a 2CV for nearly a year, as sole transport. Great cars but prone to tin-worm attack.
So I’ll take the 2CV, slippers, & Sunday run out scenario. I’ll pass on the pipe & church, though.

Porsche cars will count as part of the wider VW Group won't they? I'm sure there will be some creative 'workarounds' for some of this legislation. I see FCA are already doing some sort of deal where they can include Tesla in their figures.

There is no band of Waze. It's only the speed camera function of such apps that is banned...

I was in Switzerland a couple of weeks ago....no roadworks or traffic came up when I used Waze ? It did when I was there the previous month. I even tried “tagging” some roadworks but didn’t seem to work. Maybe it was just me!

Interesting. Used Waze three weeks back in Switzerland and it worked fine. Maybe Waze was busy admiring your lovely Lava GT3 instead of concentrating on mundane things like roadworks wink
