A friend attended a private track day there on Tuesday of this week and limit was 105db if that is helpful. Do you know your dB level?
Hi PS201,Thank you for your reply, 105dB will be really helpful. Honestly, I don't know how loud it is, but I know its loud. I might "force" the valves closed by tying up the actuators into a closed position to see if this helps reduce the noise......
The speed traps are on the straights so worst case you can take it slightly easier there and still give it the beans in the corners. I had a passenger ride in a period Austin Healey race car there a few months ago which was ludicrously loud...driver avoided being black flagged by taking it easier on the straights.
Well, happy to say no static noise test today, so able to run the car no problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX2a9hKGt3w second car in the vid....
Great day out for all, looked after by Goodwood. Even though there was a 70 mph for under sixteen passengers. I don't think any drive checked their speedo's.
Goodwood runs either 105 or 98db static test days. For the former, drive by is 101db.
The sensors are close to the track:
First is between Magwick and Fordwater on the outside about 2m from the edge of the track.
Second is on the approach to Lavent corner, again 2m from track on the outside.
Last one is just after the chicane, on the inside and 2m from track.
You normally pass the first at full throttle, or lift to cut noise, the second is generally no problem because you are most likely on the brakes, at the final one you are normally full on the gas.
I get caught at the first, and haven’t been back for several years as lifting there just ruins the track for me even using turn down tips.

Ah - you didn't mention that it was for the Supercar Event.
...for normal trackdays I'm fairly sure you would struggle with a bypass. For the charity event they might be more relaxed.
Yup. For normal days most GT3s won’t pass even on 105db days....for normal trackdays I'm fairly sure you would struggle with a bypass. For the charity event they might be more relaxed.
I hope you were able to entertain lots of passengers yesterday. Great day for it!
