extremely cheap 997 - other than the fact that the MOT seemed to expire May 2018, any ideas why this is so cheap?
I'm going to call the dealer later on today and see if I can glean any more information

Something is amiss I think. If you click on 'other items' you get a list of cars with a different seller referred to (?) and all way under value. Scam is highly probable.

Edited: When I looked, all the cars in the link above had the seller as 'suv4x4centre' or something similar but I see they've now all changed to ctc-centre.
It seems the user id changed a couple of days ago......

At that price getting a pre-purchase inspection is a must.
It may save you buying a lemon, or a sound investment in a rare bargain. There will inevitably be some work that needs doing - they all do at that age - it may be a few thousand or many thousands. An inspection by OPC or reputable indi will allow you to make an informed decision.

Must have only been listed in the last day or so, as I check fairly regularly
I'm in the market for a 996 Carrera 2, looking at the bottom end of the market around £12k (for a manual, coupe)... so to see this pop up this morning blew my mind a bit
Definitely suspicious. I'll call today and feedback

That same car with same reg.no. is for sale on A/T at present for £22,500 from a dealer in Notts area; if it looks too good, it most probably is.
Worth calling the £22k dealer and flagging this to them as it might be a targeted theft ie stolen to order but the eBay buyer is utterly unaware. I’d not want dodgy characters snooping round my trade cars.

This is the genuine ad then:

I've reported the one on ebay. There's loads of vehicles listed under accounts that have been hijacked but they usually have an email address in them to try and suck money from somebody.
