992 static noise

Anyone else have an irritating static noise intermittently coming from their 992? Can’t figure out if its coming from the PCM or elsewhere. OPC says they have heard it on other cars but have no other explanation (which seems to be a common response to some other smaller SW issues with the PCM)

Listening to a podcast yesterday, I thought I heard some distortion, but I'm not sure I'd call it static.

I'm impressed by the Bose, and felt that it was probably a recording frequency thing.

Are you getting static with audio off?

Yes static is there with audio off. Perhaps static is the wrong characterisation - defo a high pitch ticking. Other than that audio quality is fine - ironically it gets drowned out by the radio.

Is that engine on or off? i.e. is it a tappety ticking noise like one of the oil pumps?

Both. I think it happens even if you enter the car with the key - maybe only when the ignition is on but engine not running.
