Agreed, it seems an absolute mile away from 'value' for a private sale, armchair car with high miles.

Just trying to get it some press... its owned by a v well known and respected Indy and during my long and protracted search it popped up and its in good order. just feel like good cars need to be recognised as such.

on another note, cars are moving at prices that are still a bit rich albeit mainly CS or comforts with buckets

Cavendish just sold that nice atlas grey with ceramics and buckets that was SOR for 75 (likely returning late mid to late 60s to the owner)

That Atlas grey one hung around for a while so I can't possibly see how one without ceramics or buckets, worse colour, same mileage and price could be considered good value.

OK , i'll have to post that 997.1 GT3 is way too expensive :-) it's just done too many miles to command that price in comfort spec.

this is better value no ? at 35k miles it has 2/3 years free milage in it for ave GT car miles PA.
and a better GT car colour/seller.

But still, I think most people would rather pay a little more and get a CS car.

Go on, do it, you know you want to. biggrin

I purchase my comfort 7 years ago. Not many CS around at the time. It was the best I could find at the time. Also my daughter was only 7 and went most places in it with me.
I have got used to the seats . Done a couple of track days and some Europe trips and they have never been a problem. Never felt I needed buckets. Yet I am not a big guy.
I guess buckets will serve there purpose for lots of track days and make your car feel a bit special.

The best thing is to find the best you can afford comfort or buckets.
Mine might be for sale soon . Always difficult to price a car you love.

I find the CGT buckets pretty comfortable, but admit that to and from a European trackday, I always end up wishing I was in my old 996 turbo and the seats are a big part of that.

Bingo; you have the answer, track days. For me, it's a massive benefit, not least because I found myself instinctively tilting my head to one side (which gets tiring pretty fast) over crests and rough sections of the Nurburgring, because with a crash helmet on, my head would otherwise hit the roof (which is even more uncomfortable and not to say a little dangerous).

In the buckets, you sit lower and there is also far far superior side support, not only for your legs and arse, but also your shoulders, so it takes much less effort to brace in corners.

And yes, I admit, there is also the "because racecar" appeal to them too, especially the full Nomex clad buckets and especially with the half-cage and Schroth harnesses. biggrin

to do that you have to pay the right price for a comfort though, not this price.

As come sale time to have to sell it cheap to get a buyer.

As always it's the cost to own and the ease to sell.

buy cheap, sell cheap is ok if you can even find a comfort buyer !! they are very thin on the ground as seen.
