991.1 Sport Chrono - Worth having?
Discussion
I’m looking for a Porsche approved 991.1 Carrera S with a few options and I’ve found a car with them all except Sport Chrono at a decent price.
I can’t help but think I’ll kick myself for not holding out for Sport Chrono, if not at purchase then at resale. Does Sport Plus mode add a lot to the equation for road driving? Mine will be a weekend car used for the odd bit of fun driving and family days out (wife, me and 2yr old). Can’t see me tracking it much as the only track “nearby” is Knockhill, which is a 120-mile round trip.
Also what’s the deal with multifunction vs non-multifunction wheels? I want the Sport Design wheel as I couldn’t get on at all with the standard one when I test drove a Carrera recently. I assume Sport Design on a 991.1 isn’t multifunction so does that just mean the mode buttons are on a different stalk or something?

When I was looking sport chrono was a nice to have rather than must have
my car which is PDK has sport chrono, sport design wheel, 18 way seats, PSE, sports suspension, sunroof as well as quite a few other options.
If I was looking again, sport chrono would be high on the list of must haves and Imo benefits from having the PSE for greatest effect.
forgot to mention
the sport design wheel just has the paddles, no buttons
control of the extra functions (r/h/s screen on the dash) is via a separate stalk on the steering column
I find it very easy to use and getting into and out of the sub menu is just a push or pull of the stalk,
the only thing it won't do is adjust the volume, which involves having to do it the old fashioned way of reaching over and turning the knob.
