GT3RS GEN 2 Oil Consumption
Discussion
Called in at OPC Tewksbury the other day; being a bit cheeky I asked whether they could perform an accurate oil level check. The car quite regularly asks me to perform a check via the display, something I always do. I was surprised and very pleased to hear that all they could put in was 135 ml's that is despite covering 7100 miles to include three track days and a lot of spirited drives. The cars garage walls are painted white, pleased to say that there is no discolouration from the exhaust when starting. When I had a GT3 Gen1 it was a somewhat different story. Is my car a "good un" or are they all like that?

Same 6.5 k miles , 7 track days ..... and a few bumps on the rev limiter ...... No oil added , even had the 1 year OPC check up , no oil needed
When you do a visual check how far up does your green indicator bar go? Despite being told that the oil level was correct via the display, mine was approximately 20% green. With the small amount of oil added it is now 95% green. So technically it didn't need any, I'm just reassured to see that green bar where it is now. Bit paronoid I suppose. I never need to add oil ... I change it every four trackdays which is generally at around 2500 miles ...
Oil is cheaper than the extended warranty that P wouldn't want to offer me on my mods !!
Not having to worry about N or not rated tyres and which replacement battery (come the day) is quite a relief ....

When used harder , sometimes too much oil is worse . The green is at the 30-40 % area , which is fine .hunter 66 said:

In other words, IMHO, if you need the handbrake on (i.e. ground is not totally flat) it will read slightly different than if the car is dead flat. Also reads lower if you have gone out and warmed up engine thoroughly but have not fully revved/worked it.
I was advised to be very careful about topping it up. It doesn't seem to need it anyway, fortunately.
