In which case, I have a favour to ask.

Could you please tell me the total external diameter of the caliper and 380mm brake disc, so I know if the rims I’m looking at will clear?

PCCB six piston caliper plus 380mm disc is the setup I’m interested in- thanks in advance.

I would keep to lower weight and just keep the calipers you have on a 997 GT3 and buy some trick 350mm 2-piece Competition disks.

if I do a project it will be a 300bhp/ton 997.1 GT3.

And unless I was fitting AP Radi-CAL calipers, I would just do some 350mm trick disks and then spend more money on some very light forged wheels.

Brembo B-M6 also new trick calipers.

I done a conversion on my 997.2 and this is the wheels I'm using. 380 front 350 rear.

Thanks for that - for context, I'd like to stick with an 18" wheel, and some Googling shows that some 18's will clear a 380mm rotor (the minority) whilst some won't (the majority).

What I'd like to establish is what the minimum clearance actually is (outermost edge of the calliper plus 2mm) so that I can check that the rims I'm looking at have an internal diameter that is larger than the minimum required.

Following is my best effort at measuring and not guaranteed!
Internal diameter of my GT3 997.2 wheel is 445mm
Clearance between PCCB yellow caliper and wheel is 11mm (diameter would be 423mm)
So allowing safe margin of 2mm your wheel would need inside diameter of at least 427mm
Hope these ball park figures are of help
